Hi there! My name is Madeleine, and I’m a full time college student at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. My major is Mass Communications, with a focus in Public Relations. College mostly keeps me busy, but when I’m not occupied with school work I’m usually always dancing. I take dance classes, teach dance classes and watch dance videos on Youtube. Pretty much anything that involves dancing, sign me up! I’m also a HUGE animal lover and a gardening enthusiast.
Although my plate is pretty full balancing these things, there’s also a big space that is always occupied by my anxiety. Ever since I was nine years old, I have struggled with severe anxiety. From panic attacks, to medicine, to counseling, even an ER visit, I’ve been through it all. I am naturally a worrisome person and have always tried to keep my mental health a private matter, but I have come to the realization that my experiences and insight on anxiety can help others to understand and cope through similar experiences. It’s about time we put an end to the stigma around mental health, and I hope my voice can inspire others to be more outspoken and understanding on deep issues like this. Thanks for reading! 🙂
